Senior Project Manager

Duties: As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee and manage the service stream, including Project Resourcing, Best Practice, Knowledge Management, Tools & Systems, Key Account Management, Service Opportunity Identification, and Service Development. You will leverage your expertise to promote Turner & Townsend’s interests and ensure effective delivery of all business undertakings.

Expectations:

Service Delivery:

• Ensure total service delivery to all clients within Africa.
• Direct resources effectively to maximize returns and opportunities with Key Accounts.
• Implement and update tools and systems for efficient service delivery.
• Act as the key day-to-day client interface, ensuring projects meet time, cost, and quality standards.

Project Management Responsibilities:

• Lead Project Management Commissions from start to finish.
• Provide strategic advice at project conception, including approach recommendations.
• Understand and apply different contract forms (e.g., NEC).
• Lead project planning, including quality, safety, health, and environmental management.
• Establish effective project governance, processes, and systems.
• Oversee project lifecycle planning and integration into maintenance departments.
• Manage procurement of resources and lead cross-functional project teams.
• Advise the Steering Committee on project performance and internal stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor project finances, manage change control processes, and ensure effective communication.
• Produce formal progress reports and interface with clients and consultants.

Marketing and Business Development:

• Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and assist in bid construction.
• Participate in client pitches and ensure project case study files are up to date.
• Improve project management products and services.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Construction Project Management or equivalent qualification.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferably registered with a professional body as a Professional Project Manager.
• Industry knowledge and exposure.
