Purpose of the Role: To lead and drive device sales, manage stock availability, and train retail teams on iKhokha products across formal and informal retail environments in the designated region. Build strong relationships with key retail figures and ensure excellence in retail performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Activation:
    • Oversee device sales and activations within the designated territory.
    • Conduct in-store and informal activations as needed.
    • Report on sales activities and performance regularly.
  2. Stock Management:
    • Ensure effective stock management, addressing shortages promptly.
    • Drive stock level reporting disciplines through in-store agents.
    • Deliver insights and propose improvements to manage stock availability better.
  3. Training and Development:
    • Develop and execute in-store training programs for iKhokha products.
    • Provide reports on completed training programs and suggest improvements.
    • Foster strong relationships with retail partners and in-store consultants.
  4. Market Insights and Analysis:
    • Analyze market insights to identify trends and propose actionable opportunities.
    • Research competitors and provide feedback reports based on analysis.
  5. Team Leadership:
    • Lead a team of direct reports, setting a pace for excellence and collaboration.
    • Ensure KPIs are met and product visibility and accessibility are optimized.
    • Negotiate at store level to improve product visibility and cross-merchandising.
  6. System Adoption and Activity Monitoring:
    • Fully adopt and drive the use of the company’s chosen platform for monitoring in-store agent activity.
    • Ensure that direct reports use the system as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Matric (required).
    • University degree or National Diploma in Marketing, Sales, or a similar field (desirable).
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of sales operations, retail sales, or field sales experience.
    • Minimum 1 year servicing a large retailer within the South African retail sector and managing a team.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in English and other South African languages.
    • Strong background in consumer electronics/technology.
    • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Confident communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
    • Own transport and valid driver’s license (travel is a core component).
