Fleet Controller

Purpose of the Role: To manage logistics operations, including client and subcontractor interactions, freight service coordination, and fleet management. Ensure timely and safe delivery of consignments while maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client and Subcontractor Management:
   • Identify and vet prospective clients, subcontractors, and brokerage firms to build a pipeline of service providers and clients.
   • Gather client information to determine their needs and provide suitable solutions.
2. Freight Service Coordination:
   • Obtain quotes from carriers and relay them to clients.
   • Book freight services through subcontractors for clients.
   • Coordinate the pickup and drop-off of consignments.
3. Progress Monitoring and Issue Resolution:
   • Monitor the progress of consignments to ensure prompt and undamaged delivery.
   • Advise clients on potential issues and delays, providing timely updates and solutions.
4. Fleet Management:
   • Update Fleet Management System with relevant information.
   • Ensure effective management of fleet operations and coordination with subcontractors.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent (required).
  • Qualification in Fleet Management and Logistics (advantageous).
• Experience:
  • 2 to 4 years of proven experience as a logistics/fleet controller.
  • Experience managing a small fleet and dealing with subcontractors and clients.
• Skills:
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
