Main Purpose: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for responding to maintenance requests, investigating complaints, performing necessary maintenance work, and ensuring the functionality and safety of equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, managing stock levels, and supervising staff while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Respond to maintenance requests, investigate complaints, and perform necessary maintenance work.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance as per the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule.
- Supplies and Inventory Management:
- Source suppliers, obtain quotes, and order services and materials for maintenance.
- Manage stock levels for maintenance consumables and oversee inventory control.
- Equipment Inspections and Reporting:
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure functionality.
- Report on equipment conditions and advise management on potential issues and solutions.
- Supervision and Training:
- Supervise and train maintenance staff and contractors, including production staff for routine checks.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, safety regulations, and company quality standards, including cGMP and FSSC22000.
- Participate in incident investigations and report incidents as required.
- Promote safety, quality, and environmental awareness within the workplace.
- Communication and Documentation:
- Maintain effective communication with other departments and manage documentation accurately.
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Qualified Millwright with a Trade Certificate (either Section 13 or Section 28 of the Manpower Training Act).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience, preferably in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Proven ability to perform maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Customer-focused, results-oriented, and energetic attitude.
- Knowledge of OHS Act and safety legislation is essential.
- Proficiency in SAP is advantageous.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical and basic mechanical drawings.
