Work-Force

To support the Engineering team by drafting electrical and C&I (Control and Instrumentation) drawings and assisting with producing as-built deliverables, ensuring integration with other engineering disciplines.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Liaison with Design Engineers: Collaborate with design engineers to understand project requirements by reading and applying project specifications.
  • Design Assistance: Contribute to concept, basic, and detailed designs by producing design drawings for Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV), and Direct Current (DC) systems.
  • Support During Installation: Assist with installation activities by verifying as-built statuses, updating drawings, amending designs, and supporting test and commissioning activities.
  • Quality Control: Ensure and control the quality of work produced, maintaining high standards.
  • Timely Delivery: Produce drawings in accordance with designated timelines.
  • Integration: Integrate electrical and C&I design with civil, mechanical, and piping disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirement: Minimum National Certificate Level 5 in a relevant draughting qualification from an accredited college or equivalent, OR
  • National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 4 years in C&I and electrical design.
  • Additional Advantage: Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry and Renewable Energy sectors.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding of General Arrangement Layouts, Single Line Diagrams, Circuit Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Fire Detection Layouts, Small Power and Lighting, and Solar Plant Layouts.
    • Knowledge of Electrical Underground Ducts, Electrical Grounding, Small Power & Lighting, Electrical Equipment Layout, Cable Tray Layouts, and Standard Installation Detail Drawings.
    • Practical knowledge of control systems such as PLC and DCS.
    • Working knowledge of LV, MV, and DC system designs.
    • Understanding of OHS Act and its Regulations.
    • Familiarity with quality systems like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001.
    • Knowledge of standards and practices within the C&I/electrical discipline.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency with AVEVA, AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation software, and other 3D software.
    • Clear communication skills (both written and spoken).
    • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
    • Ability to prioritize workload effectively.
