Commissioning Engineer

Main Purpose

To deliver expert technical services related to boiler operations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Commissioning: Execute the commissioning program as scheduled.
• Documentation: Compile comprehensive plant method statements and develop maintenance plans.
• Configuration Management: Manage plant codifications, P&ID compilation, and accurate plant labeling.
• Procedures Development: Create, maintain, and update operating procedures, specifications, and standards in line with international guidelines.
• Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and ensure AIA involvement where necessary.
• Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and compile effective business plans.
• Engineering Modifications: Oversee the complete engineering modification processes.
• Compliance: Execute and interpret relevant codes concerning boiler performance and process measurements.
• Testing and Evaluation: Plan and conduct equipment testing while evaluating performance results to monitor plant efficiency.
• Calibration Oversight: Ensure the correct use of calibrated equipment and conduct boiler chemical cleaning as required.
• Additional Duties: Perform any other job-related tasks as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: B.Sc. or B.Tech. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Control and Instrumentation, or Industrial Chemistry fields.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years (preferably 15 years) in a related engineering environment.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with conditioning monitoring techniques, life cycle management, general craft knowledge, and a solid understanding of:
  • Boiler pressure parts
  • High-pressure piping (HPP)
  • Milling plants
  • Fuel gas clearing plants
  • Boiler control systems
  • Firing equipment
  • Soot blowing systems
  • Draught plants
  • Motors and gearboxes
  • Ash removal systems

Skills Requirements

• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Ability to interpret testing inspection database reports and computerized management system reports
