Job Summary: As a Sales Consultant at Virgin Active, your primary role is to inspire individuals to lead active lives and achieve both personal and club sales goals. You will be responsible for promoting Virgin Active as the preferred choice in the fitness industry, generating new leads, booking appointments, and closing sales to meet and exceed predefined targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation and Sales:
    • Plan daily and monthly activities to generate new leads, book appointments, and present Virgin Active offerings to potential customers.
    • Achieve and exceed sales targets by closing sales and overcoming objections with support from the Sales Manager and/or Regional Sales Coach.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting:
    • Record activity inputs using Virgin Active’s tools and systems according to set timelines and procedures.
    • Report to the Sales Manager on reviews, objectives, and planned activities.
    • Analyze sales data and statistics to effectively plan for future sales and enhance brand image.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Virgin Active products and competitors.
    • Expand the customer base and strengthen loyalty through service calls, networking, and relationship-building.
    • Understand prospective members’ interests and needs, matching them with Virgin Active’s offerings.
  • Marketing and Brand Promotion:
    • Activate unique marketing opportunities local to the club, such as promotions, health days, and community events.
    • Represent Virgin Active as a brand ambassador in various local and in-club events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Matric qualification.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the sales industry.
    • Proven track record of sales performance.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain rapport with customers.
    • Strong telephone communication and listening skills.
    • Financially astute with experience in calculating sales ratios.
    • Customer-centric approach and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred:
    • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Sales and Marketing).
    • Experience in promoting and selling fitness or wellness products.
    • Wellness knowledge beyond the health club.
