A Draughtsman position is being filled in Secunda. Suitable candidates from across Mpumalanga are invited to submit their applications for review.
What This Role Involves
The Draughtsman vacancy forms part of how the Secunda branch keeps performing. It pairs day-to-day delivery with longer-running priorities that keep the engineering jobs side of the business moving forward.
Day-to-day, the role balances focused delivery with the kind of collaboration that keeps things moving. The successful candidate is trusted to make sensible decisions inside the agreed scope, with line-management support whenever a sounding board is useful.
Tools, systems and information are there to support the role rather than slow it down. The company continues to invest in the technology that backs its Secunda teams, and the new Draughtsman will feel that from the first week.
Stakeholders for this position include line managers, peers across the engineering jobs team and trusted external partners. Building those relationships early makes the next twelve months in Secunda much easier.
Day in the Life
Mornings often begin on site, walking through plant or project areas with the team and picking up where yesterday’s work ended. You move between technical reviews, contractor discussions and hands-on troubleshooting, balancing safety, cost and quality at every decision point. The afternoon might involve drawings, reports or a planning session for an upcoming shutdown. By the time you knock off, you have kept production running, advanced the project plan and helped the team go home safely.
No two days look exactly the same — and that variety is part of what keeps the role engaging for the right candidate in Secunda.
On top of that, the rhythm rewards people who plan ahead but also pivot quickly when Mpumalanga operations throw up the unexpected.
