To oversee the day-to-day operations of the eCommerce warehouse, ensuring that production and throughput objectives are met efficiently and cost-effectively. This role involves planning and utilizing resources, space, and equipment while ensuring compliance with contracts and service level agreements with all stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
- Experience:
- Experience in implementing quality management systems
- Sound knowledge and understanding of warehousing and distribution
- A good understanding of the e-commerce industry
- Skills:
- Proficient in relevant software packages and applications
- Sound knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation
Key Responsibilities:
- Growth and Strategy Support:
- Support the growth strategy for business lines to increase revenue and profit.
- Manage and report on Service Level Agreements (SLAs), including overseeing management information reports.
- Translate business requirements into operational plans to ensure timely service delivery, aligned with overall divisional strategy.
- Operational Management:
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all areas.
- Maximize operational efficiency and productivity, optimizing processes and identifying value-add opportunities.
- Refine warehouse storage capacity through optimizing shelf design, floor layout, and stock management.
- Inventory and Cost Control:
- Minimize stock losses, damages, and shrinkage through strict inventory control and continuous improvement.
- Manage operational costs, perform financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure effective management controls and governance practices are in place.
- Stakeholder and Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain effective, transparent relationships with all stakeholders (suppliers, service providers, and employees) through regular communication and reporting.
- Identify opportunities and negotiate agreements with service providers and internal stakeholders.
- Technology and Projects:
- Evaluate technology and capital requirements as determined by the tactical plan of the division.
- Actively manage and implement capital projects within the division.
- Staff Management:
- Plan for, select, develop, and retain suitable staff to build a high-performance team.
- Establish efficient security, stock control, and optimum storage conditions for all product lines.
- Order Processing and Reporting:
- Oversee the processing of all inbound and outbound orders, ensuring accurate records of all goods in and out of storage.
- Report on production, resources, and facilities on a monthly basis.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Constantly seek new ways to improve distribution center efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
