Job Purpose: We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Digital Content & Social Media Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and will be responsible for creating and managing engaging digital content across various platforms. This role requires a natural aptitude for social media, problem-solving capabilities, and a passion for pushing digital boundaries. Key Duties:

  • Social Media Management:
    • Assemble and deploy daily social media communications across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
    • Coordinate digital content productions with internal and external teams.
  • Content Planning:
    • Compile and manage monthly content calendars in collaboration with the brand and merchandise teams.
    • Brief digital content requirements to the design studio, adhering to agreed lead times.
  • Agency Liaison:
    • Coordinate with external digital agencies to ensure timely delivery of performance media assets in line with the digital media plan.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Work with community managers to engage with online communities and leverage user-generated content through competitions, giveaways, and brand partnerships.
  • Campaign Management:
    • Proactively coordinate digital campaign requirements with the brand and eCommerce teams.
    • Brief paid media agencies on campaigns, providing creative assets and communicating campaign durations and focus areas.
  • Reporting & Optimization:
    • Execute weekly/monthly reporting to track KPIs and provide insights for future campaign optimizations.
    • A/B test formats and messaging to drive sales and improve ROAS.
  • Digital Tools Utilization:
    • Use Marketing Cloud and Email on Acid to deploy mailers, build customer journeys, and perform A/B testing.
    • Track monthly budgets and report on variances.
    • Utilize AI tools to streamline work processes.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Matric and related tertiary education in digital content or marketing.
  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram) is essential.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is advantageous.
  • High-level understanding of performance media (Facebook & Google), email communication strategies, and digital analytics.
  • Domain knowledge in retail, online advertising, and eCommerce, with a strong affinity for the Cape Union Mart and K-Way Brands.
