Manager

Job Purpose: To manage the operational and financial performance of the Kroonstad Livestock Branch, ensuring profitability and effective business operations. This role involves overseeing financial management, personnel, marketing, and all administrative functions related to the livestock business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of the Livestock Branch.
  • Ensure business goals are met, focusing on market share, turnover growth, and profitability.
  • Develop and manage strategic objectives for the business unit.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets and financial statements.
• Personnel Management:
  • Attract, develop, and retain talented employees.
  • Manage and lead the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Handle employee performance and development.
• Financial Management:
  • Oversee financial aspects including debtors and creditors management.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Marketing and Sales:
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase business and market share.
  • Build and maintain relationships with buyers, sellers, and industry associations.
• Administrative Duties:
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CPA, Animal Protection Act, and Animal Diseases Act.
  • Provide efficient brand management and administrative support.

Job Requirements:

• Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Agricultural Economics diploma or degree/B Com).
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Livestock Marketing and Auctioneering services.
  • Proven experience in financial and personnel management.
