About the Role: As a Data Science Graduate at Minopex, you will be instrumental in revolutionizing mineral processing through data-driven solutions. You will work with extensive data sets, develop predictive models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency and support data-informed decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Dive deep into extensive mining data sets using statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to uncover actionable insights and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify data science challenges and develop innovative solutions tailored to mineral processing.
- Predictive Modeling: Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms to optimize mineral processing and production processes.
- Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization tools to create compelling reports and dashboards that enable stakeholders to make informed decisions.
- Innovation: Stay updated with advancements in data science and mineral processing technology, contributing innovative ideas to improve practices.
Qualification Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Chemical/Metallurgical/Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Experience: Up to one year of work experience is advantageous.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling techniques.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL is advantageous.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js is advantageous.
- Knowledge of mineral processing concepts, processes, and data sets is beneficial.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills within the mineral processing context.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex findings effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and a genuine passion for applying data science in the mineral processing industry.
- Language: Proficiency in English.
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
