Overview: Minopex is seeking recent graduates to join our Graduate Engineer-in-Training Programme for Computer Engineering. This programme is designed to develop high-performing, disciplined, and self-motivated individuals into future leaders within our System team. The role will be head-office based with rotations to various Minopex sites to gain a comprehensive understanding of the working environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Training and Development: Engage in a structured programme designed to equip you with industry experience and professional skills through practical learning and hands-on experience.
- Skill Development: Develop technical skills through personal interaction with senior staff, coaching, on-the-job training, and addressing engineering and process challenges.
- Comprehensive Learning: Gain a thorough understanding of computer engineering, including database administration, web development, PLC programming, and IOT integration.
- Certification: Aim to become certified as a Computer Engineer, Computer Engineering Technologist, Computer Certificated Engineer, or Computer Engineering Technician, depending on your qualification.
- Professional Growth: Prepare for registration as a professional with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rotation and Exposure: Rotate between various Minopex operations to understand different environments and gain practical experience.
- Technical Skills Application: Apply technical skills in database administration, web development, PLC programming, and IOT integration.
- Problem Solving: Address engineering and process challenges while learning the intricacies of our business.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing assessment and feedback to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualification Requirements:
- Educational Background: Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or BSc Computer Science.
- Work Experience: 1 – 2 years of work experience at a mine or plant, with exposure to MES/OMS systems, is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Experience or interest in the following will be advantageous:
- Database Administration, Development, and Management
- Web Development (Vue.js, C#, MSSQL)
- PLC Programming (Integration)
- IOT Integration (MQTT, OPC, Modbus, etc.)
- Language Proficiency: English language proficiency.
- Citizenship: Must be a South African Citizen.
Programme Details:
- Duration: 2-year fixed-term programme.
- Employment Status: Permanent employment is not guaranteed upon completion of the programme.
- Rotation: Willingness to rotate between various Minopex operations is required.
