Job Overview:
As a Software Engineer, you will design and implement new features and enhancements for a high-scale classifieds platform. You will work closely with the UI and UX teams, participate in the scrum process, and serve as a mentor for less experienced developers. Your role will involve coding in modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and PHP, with a focus on Laravel and Blade templates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feature Development:
- Design and implement new features and enhancements using modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and PHP.
- Utilize Blade templates and Laravel (v9.0 and later) for development.
- Bug Fixing:
- Address and fix bugs assigned during the sprint planning process.
- Code Innovation:
- Solve complex problems related to operating a high-scale classifieds platform.
- Review and approve the work of peers as part of the software development process.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the UI and UX team to translate designs into functional code.
- Participate in the scrum process and daily stand-ups.
- Technical Specifications:
- Assist the Head of Engineering and Product Manager with the compilation of technical specifications.
- Mentorship:
- Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced developers.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Degree or Diploma preferred but not required.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in tech/development roles.
- Firm grasp of Laravel framework (v9.0 and later), with a focus on Blade templating and software design patterns.
- Experience with Tailwind CSS or another “utility-based” CSS framework preferred but not required.
- Solid understanding of Vue.js and/or React JavaScript frameworks.
- Proficiency in MySQL, Redis, Memcached, and related storage technologies is advantageous.
- Experience with Continuous Integration, Git, and Linux.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse, remote team.
- Ability to explain technical matters to non-technical staff.
- Professional, self-motivated attitude with a high attention to detail.
- Proficient in written and oral English communication.
