Overview

The Process Operator is responsible for assisting in the smooth running of the respective plant sections while maintaining specified client targets and adhering to health and safety standards. This role requires monitoring equipment, ensuring process parameters are met, and supporting production performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring Equipment: Continuously monitor plant equipment and report any issues to the Control/Process Section Supervisor.
  • Process Adherence: Ensure adherence to specified process parameters within the respective sections to maintain product quality and safety.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Production Support: Support the achievement of production performance levels by assisting in daily operations.
  • Basic Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance activities by assisting maintenance staff with tasks such as replacing screens and idlers where engineering expertise is not required.

Qualification Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 is essential.
  • Certification: A National Certificate in Mineral Processing Level 2 will be an advantage.

Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience as a process operator, preferably in a chemical processing or metallurgical plant.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks.
