Description: The Loadmaster is responsible for managing the logistics and operational processes related to the loading and unloading of livestock, as well as setting up and maintaining auction equipment and pens. This role ensures that Special and Stud auctions run smoothly and that all equipment and vehicles are in optimal condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics Management: Drive the truck for transporting livestock, ensuring safe and efficient loading and offloading.
- Auction Preparation: Build pens and set up equipment for Special and Stud auctions.
- Equipment Maintenance: Repair and maintain auction-related equipment and ensure all tools and vehicles are in good working order.
- Administrative Duties: Complete and submit proper accounts and offloading tickets; manage diesel consumption and ensure the cleanliness of company vehicles.
- Auction Site Management: Organize the auction site, including the setup of equipment and gates, and oversee the general cleanliness and organization.
- Team Management: Manage wages employees and ensure effective coordination among team members.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
- Education: Grade 12.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the livestock environment.
- Licenses: Valid EC license and PDP (Public Driver’s Permit).
- Language Skills: Must be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
Skills:
- Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal skills.
- Goal-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
- Excellent time management and decision-making skills.
- Good computer literacy.
