Overall Purpose of the Job: The Key Account Manager is responsible for achieving designated sales targets by acquiring new business and supporting key accounts. The role involves working with both B2B and SME customers to drive sales, meet client needs, and ensure high customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
    • Source and acquire new business opportunities within the B2B and SME sectors through a proactive prospecting plan.
    • Generate and manage business within assigned accounts while pursuing new accounts to achieve sales targets.
  • Client Management:
    • Ensure clients’ needs and expectations are met and maintained at a high standard.
    • Develop and sustain strong relationships with clients to retain and expand the business.
  • Market Awareness:
    • Stay informed about competing products/services, pricing structures, and market strengths and weaknesses.
    • Utilize this knowledge to effectively service and motivate accounts, and to develop new customer relationships.
  • Sales Performance:
    • Achieve profitable sales volume and meet strategic objective targets.
    • Regularly assess, clarify, and validate consumer needs to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with customer support and resource management departments to meet performance objectives and customer expectations.
    • Assist in the development of initiatives aimed at increasing customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Order Management:
    • Follow up on orders to ensure timely processing and delivery.
    • Assist with the timely collection of outstanding invoices.
  • Budgeting & Planning:
    • Develop budgets in alignment with sales and business goals.
    • Support company-wide strategic planning as needed.
  • Issue Management:
    • Address and resolve any issues that arise with both internal and external customers.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Proposal Preparation:
    • Prepare detailed proposals and quotes based on consumer requirements.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Matric/Grade 12 required. Relevant qualification or degree is advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Prior experience in telematics is advantageous.
