The Cost Accountant is responsible for accurately performing yield and production calculations for VKB Milling, contributing to the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.
Requirements
- Education: BCom Accounting degree.
- Qualifications: CIMA qualification is recommended.
- Experience: Completed SAICA articles and at least 3 years of relevant experience in the Cost Accounting field.
Key Responsibilities
- Costing Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate costing records and project costing.
- Reporting: Generate detailed costing reports and develop/maintain costing models.
- Variance Monitoring: Monitor purchase price variance and conduct stock evaluations at month-end.
- Budget Assistance: Assist in the budget and forecast process, including pricing structures.
- Stock Counts: Participate in stock counts to ensure accuracy in inventory management.
- Management Reporting: Compile monthly management reports to provide insights into cost performance.
- Production Orders Posting: Ensure daily posting of production and transfer orders is completed accurately.
- IT Support: Assist all departments with IT-related inquiries as needed.
- Journal Approval: Approve general journals and payments on an ad-hoc basis.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory item setup on NAVISION and monitor production efficiency weekly.
Skills
- Strong analytical, numeracy, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer literacy, with advanced capabilities in Excel.
- Ability to function independently as well as part of a team, accepting responsibility for outcomes.
