Cost Accountant

Overview

The Cost Accountant is responsible for accurately performing yield and production calculations for VKB Milling, contributing to the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

Requirements

• Education: BCom Accounting degree.
• Qualifications: CIMA qualification is recommended.
• Experience: Completed SAICA articles and at least 3 years of relevant experience in the Cost Accounting field.

Key Responsibilities

• Costing Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate costing records and project costing.
• Reporting: Generate detailed costing reports and develop/maintain costing models.
• Variance Monitoring: Monitor purchase price variance and conduct stock evaluations at month-end.
• Budget Assistance: Assist in the budget and forecast process, including pricing structures.
• Stock Counts: Participate in stock counts to ensure accuracy in inventory management.
• Management Reporting: Compile monthly management reports to provide insights into cost performance.
• Production Orders Posting: Ensure daily posting of production and transfer orders is completed accurately.
• IT Support: Assist all departments with IT-related inquiries as needed.
• Journal Approval: Approve general journals and payments on an ad-hoc basis.
• Inventory Management: Maintain inventory item setup on NAVISION and monitor production efficiency weekly.
