Cleaner position available. Job Purpose: To maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store, ensuring a pleasant shopping environment for customers and a safe working environment for staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning Duties:
- Provide daily cleaning of the store, shop floor, and communal areas before opening.
- Develop and follow cleaning routines to maintain cleanliness standards throughout the store.
- Ensure the canteen and restrooms are clean and stocked with necessary products at all times.
- Be available throughout operational hours to address cleaning needs as required.
- Use the correct cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks.
- Display wet floor signs where applicable.
- Customer Service:
- Be friendly and professional, assisting customers as needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and approach.
- Health and Safety:
- Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during cleaning tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
- Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Minimum of 6 months’ cleaning experience.
- Sound command of the English language.
- Basic customer service skills.
- Additional language relevant to the area.
- Willingness and ability to work retail hours.
- Advantageous:
- Bilingual.
- Previous retail store cleaning experience.

- Prior retail store cleaning experience.

Special Conditions of Employment:
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
- Physically fit for tasks including walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and moving objects.
- Reliable transport and/or residence close to the store.
- South African citizen.
- Clear credit and criminal records.
