The Chemical Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the chemical warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and implementing efficient processes. This role includes managing inventory, supervising staff, and coordinating with procurement and production teams to meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee the daily operations of the chemical warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping chemicals.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in all warehouse activities.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, and implement best practices to minimize risks associated with chemical handling and storage.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for warehouse staff.
  • Staff Supervision:
    • Train, supervise, and provide guidance to warehouse staff, ensuring proper training on safety procedures and chemical handling.
    • Foster a team environment that emphasizes safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to ensure inventory levels are accurate and up-to-date.
    • Coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely delivery of chemicals to meet production schedules.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Develop and implement efficiency improvements to streamline warehouse processes and reduce operational costs.
    • Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, including inventory levels, productivity metrics, and safety records.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Communicate regularly with upper management to provide updates on warehouse operations.
    • Address any issues or concerns that may arise and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical warehouse management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations pertaining to chemical handling and storage.
    • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and upper management.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management software.
    • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
