Product Data Engineer position available. Purpose Statement: To contribute to the design and development of new applications and systems that meet the business requirements of the product line environment. This role involves analyzing business or system requirements and data to enhance understanding of the product line environment and participating in the compilation of solution design documentation for both new and existing products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Application/System Design and Development:
    • Contribute to the design and development of new applications and systems to meet business requirements.
    • Analyze business or system requirements to improve understanding of the product line environment.
  2. Solution Design:
    • Participate in the creation of solution design documentation for new and existing products and systems.
    • Provide input to the Architect during the design documentation process.
  3. Analysis and Enhancement:
    • Enhance the understanding of the product line environment through data analysis and system requirement analysis.

Education:

  • Minimum: A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Data Analysis.
  • Ideal or Preferred: A degree in Data Engineering and certification in Data Warehousing.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum:
      • At least 4 years of proven experience in management information systems (MIS), data warehousing, or data transformation/system analysis, along with a relevant 3-year tertiary qualification.
      • Alternatively, at least 4-6 years of proven experience in management information systems or system analysis.
      • Proven experience with relational data warehouses (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and ETL and orchestration tools.
      • Experience in testing methodologies.
    • Ideal:
      • Proven experience in cloud environments, specifically AWS, and familiarity with AWS technologies.
      • Experience with data analysis and orchestration technologies.
  • Knowledge:
    • Minimum:
      • IT systems development processes (SDLC).
      • ETL processes and dimensional modeling.
      • Standards and governance in data systems.
      • SQL and relational database systems.
      • Testing practices.
    • Ideal:
      • Knowledge of data architecture, including technical design and implementation processes.
      • Data Platform Lifecycle (DPLC) knowledge.
      • Understanding of the banking systems environment and business model.
      • Best practices for Quality Assurance (QA).
