Job Description: An exciting opportunity exists for a Millwright – Processing at NBL Isando, Coffee and Creamer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of high-speed packaging machinery, ensuring machine availability to meet production targets.
Key Performance Areas:
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform maintenance, repair, and fault-finding tasks on high-speed packaging machinery to ensure machine availability and meet production targets.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment on machinery.
- Planned Maintenance: Carry out electrical and mechanical planned maintenance, including the installation and repair of all machinery.
- Adjustments: Set timing, cams, and limits on equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Failure Investigation: Investigate the root causes of plant failures and implement corrective actions.
- Project Support: Support project implementation as required.
- Downtime Management: Communicate downtime data to the Engineering Foreman and work to meet downtime targets.
- Machinery Handling: Work with various machinery including VFFS packaging machinery, food processing equipment, conveyors, Multi-head weighers, Bosch Flow and roll wrap machines, CAMA Case packing, Cermex, Cam, Klik-klock, robotic palletisers, and general factory equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: At least 3 years’ experience as a Millwright with high-speed packaging machines and plant equipment maintenance and repairs in an FMCG environment.
- Qualifications: Matric / Grade 12; Trade tested as a Millwright at an accredited training facility.
- Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems.
- PLC programming and VSD setup knowledge is advantageous.
- Understanding of QMS, HACCP, and GMPs is a plus.
