Legal Secretary

Work-Force

Whether you are an experienced Legal Secretary or stepping into the role for the first time, there is space for you in Uitenhage. The team hires on merit and across communities in Eastern Cape.

The Role

The organisation is investing in its Uitenhage operation, and this Legal Secretary position reflects that commitment. The successful candidate will work across the legal and security jobs function and contribute to the wider Eastern Cape business.

Beyond that, the organisation keeps reporting lines clean and expectations realistic. Performance is measured against a small, agreed set of metrics, and there are no surprise yardsticks for the Legal Secretary taking on this position.

In addition, the role has been written to be sustainable, not just busy. Strong output is expected, and managers in Uitenhage also pay attention to recovery, learning and the kind of breathing room that keeps people doing good work over time.

Tools, systems and information are there to support the role rather than slow it down. The company continues to invest in the technology that backs its Uitenhage teams, and the new Legal Secretary will feel that from the first week.

Stakeholders for this position include line managers, peers across the legal and security jobs team and trusted external partners. Building those relationships early makes the next twelve months in Uitenhage much easier.

What Your Day Looks Like

Your day is built on focus and detail. You work through matter files or post lists, review evidence or contracts and check that every required record is in place. Communication with site teams, attorneys, clients or SAPS is constant, and you keep your reports factual, precise and timely. When something out of the ordinary happens, you respond calmly and follow procedure, knowing that good documentation today protects the business tomorrow.

Equally, the rhythm rewards people who plan ahead but also pivot quickly when Eastern Cape operations throw up the unexpected.

Equally, the Uitenhage office buzzes through peak hours and settles into focused, productive lulls in between, giving you time to plan and reset before the next stretch of work.

No two days look exactly the same — and that variety is part of what keeps the role engaging for the right candidate in Uitenhage.
