Day-to-day, the role balances focused delivery with the kind of collaboration that keeps things moving. The successful candidate is trusted to make sensible decisions inside the agreed scope, with line-management support whenever a sounding board is useful.

Tools, systems and information are there to support the role rather than slow it down. The company continues to invest in the technology that backs its Vereeniging teams, and the new Investigator will feel that from the first week.

Stakeholders for this position include line managers, peers across the legal and security jobs team and trusted external partners. Building those relationships early makes the next twelve months in Vereeniging much easier.

Diversity and Inclusion

The organisation is committed to fair, merit-based recruitment and equal opportunity. Applications are assessed against the published role requirements in line with applicable employment law.

Inclusive hiring extends through onboarding and into how teams operate every day. Respectful, fair conduct is expected from every team member in Vereeniging.

B-BBEE compliance is more than a scorecard here. It informs how the business invests in skills development, supplier diversity and community engagement across the country.

Practically speaking, the hiring organisation’s applicable employment-equity and inclusion practices will be explained in the final vacancy details for Gauteng.

Your Team

You will join a tight-knit, collaborative team that knows the legal and security jobs side of the business inside out. The Vereeniging group is a healthy mix of experienced operators and newer joiners, all of whom share a strong commitment to delivery and to one another.

Collaboration is the default working mode. Whether picking up a quick query or working through a complex project, you will find colleagues willing to lean in and help.

Importantly, the team structure and working relationships for this role in Vereeniging will be explained during the hiring process.

Line management is hands-on without being heavy. Expect regular one-to-ones, honest feedback and the support needed to do good work consistently.

Why This Role

Few roles let you see the impact of your work as quickly as this one. Every shift, project and decision in Vereeniging contributes to real outcomes for clients and colleagues across the legal and security jobs space in Gauteng.

On top of that, the package, working arrangements and any available support will be confirmed by the hiring organisation for this vacancy.

Notably, the role’s development opportunities, training and benefits, if offered, will be set out in the final vacancy details.

Career development may be available depending on the role, business needs and the hiring organisation’s policies.

A Typical Day

Your day is built on focus and detail. You work through matter files or post lists, review evidence or contracts and check that every required record is in place. Communication with site teams, attorneys, clients or SAPS is constant, and you keep your reports factual, precise and timely. When something out of the ordinary happens, you respond calmly and follow procedure, knowing that good documentation today protects the business tomorrow.

No two days look exactly the same — and that variety is part of what keeps the role engaging for the right candidate in Vereeniging.

In addition, the Vereeniging office buzzes through peak hours and settles into focused, productive lulls in between, giving you time to plan and reset before the next stretch of work.

Importantly, the rhythm rewards people who plan ahead but also pivot quickly when Gauteng operations throw up the unexpected.

Your Role

  • Operate access control points and verify visitor credentials
  • Maintain PSIRA registration and uphold the security industry code of conduct
  • Conduct searches and inspections in line with site procedures
  • Run compliance training for staff on POPIA, FICA and ethics
  • Draft, review and amend commercial contracts and service agreements
  • Support investigations into theft, fraud and policy breaches
  • Monitor CCTV systems and respond to alarms and incidents
  • Patrol assigned premises and conduct visible security deterrence

What You’ll Need

  • Able to perform the essential duties of a site-based security role safely, with reasonable accommodation where applicable
  • Sound ethical judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Relevant qualification: LLB, paralegal diploma or PSIRA grading as required
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure incidents
  • Any checks required by law or the specific duties will be explained during the hiring process
  • Active PSIRA registration at the appropriate grade for security roles
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required

Potential is considered alongside experience, so candidates who tick most of these boxes should still be considered.
