What This Role Involves

The In-Service Trainee IT vacancy forms part of how the De Aar branch keeps performing. It pairs day-to-day delivery with longer-running priorities that keep the in-service training side of the business moving forward.

Communication runs both ways. Managers across the in-service training team in Northern Cape make time for one-to-ones, and people are expected to speak up early when something needs attention.

Notably, the role has been written to be sustainable, not just busy. Strong output is expected, and managers in De Aar also pay attention to recovery, learning and the kind of breathing room that keeps people doing good work over time.

Day in the Life

Your day starts with a quick check-in with your mentor and a review of the tasks you’ll shadow or own. You spend time observing experienced colleagues, asking questions and trying small pieces of work yourself. As the day progresses, you capture notes for your logbook, attend team huddles and contribute where you can. The mix of structured learning, real workplace exposure and supportive feedback helps you turn classroom theory into skills you can actually use.

No two days look exactly the same — and that variety is part of what keeps the role engaging for the right candidate in De Aar.

Equally, the De Aar office buzzes through peak hours and settles into focused, productive lulls in between, giving you time to plan and reset before the next stretch of work.
