Overall Purpose: The Storeman will ensure the effective and efficient operation of the branch’s storeroom, adhering to site-specific security requirements and meeting client needs professionally at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and products.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in an efficient and orderly manner.
  • Complete regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare and package materials for delivery.
  • Assist with procurement, deliveries, and other related tasks as required.
  • Keep and maintain accurate records of inventory levels and transactions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Complete all daily reports of different clients and superiors, and send them at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure all registers are up to date and all Standard Operational Procedures are adhered to.
  • Report any discrepancies over R 50.00, faulty equipment, or consumables to the Branch Manager.
  • Handle all queries, incidents, and initial investigation reports.
  • Ensure all tellers have relevant documentation for daily use and that all documentation is completed and filed.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed feedback on queries received from the SBSA team.
  • Ensure all daily reports and statistics are up to date, accurate, and submitted to the relevant SBSA email recipient by end of day (16:00).
  • Meet the 2-hour TAT rule and provide detailed feedback on stock levels and the placing of orders to the SBSA team (refer to SOP) every 4 weeks.
  • Ensure effective communication and accuracy in the submission of documents to the SBSA team.
  • Dispatch stationary orders to clients in a timely manner (e.g., rubber bands, deposit books, money grips).
  • Fill, archive, and dispatch documents to Metro file with the correct documentation, keeping them on site for one month.
  • Secure footage on the server and copy it on a CD for distribution to clients.
  • Hand over TDCs to the respective CIT company, submit a proper out list to the SBSA team, and confirm delivery to clients by Friday 13:00.
  • Report all incidents to the Branch Manager and Regional CLO via e-mail and telephone daily by 16:00.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Certificate.
  • MS Office computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good interaction skills, bilingual communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Professional image and excellent administration skills.
  • Strong writing, reporting, and time management skills.
  • Honest, reliable, and trustworthy characteristics.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a warehouse, storeroom, or inventory management role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic numeracy skills.
  • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Excel and inventory tracking systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable motor vehicle.
