Role Overview
As the Cargo Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Cargo Handling Management: Overseeing the day-to-day cargo handling operations to ensure timely, safe, and efficient loading, unloading, and storage of goods.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all cargo operations comply with national and international regulations, including safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Team Supervision: Leading and managing a team of cargo handlers, warehouse staff, and support personnel.
  • Operational Efficiency: Implementing strategies to improve operational processes, reduce delays, and optimize the use of resources.
  • Coordination: Working closely with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs officials, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth cargo flow.
  • Reporting: Generating reports on cargo throughput, performance metrics, and operational issues for senior management.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field: Preferred educational background.
  • Experience in cargo operations: Previous experience in a similar role within a port, airport, or logistics environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of cargo handling regulations: Familiarity with international shipping, safety, and environmental standards.
