Buyer

Main Purpose: The Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials and packaging, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining supplier relationships, and supporting negotiations. The role involves extensive data analysis, contract management, and coordination with various teams to optimize procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Collection and Negotiations:
   • Gather and analyze data to prepare for negotiations, focusing on both content and organizational aspects.
   • Research suppliers and raw materials to identify the best options for procurement.
   • Compare prices and assist in maintaining price tools in collaboration with lead buyers.
2. Contract Management:
   • Prepare, create, maintain, and track contracts using SAP.
   • Send out contracts, check order confirmations, and inform lead buyers of any changes.
   • Manage supplier and material master data effectively.
3. Sample Management:
   • Efficiently handle and manage samples to support procurement activities.
4. Administrative Processing:
   • Handle administrative tasks related to complaints in consultation with lead buyers.
   • Procure raw materials and packaging, generate purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery.
5. Delivery and Issue Resolution:
   • Expedite deliveries and resolve issues such as shortages, missed or late deliveries.
   • Coordinate with the Planning team for accurate material planning and projections.
6. Vendor Coordination:
   • Coordinate with accounts for vendor payments and leverage existing procurement strategies and contracts.
   • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.
7. Localization and Benchmarking:
   • Lead the localization of raw and packaging materials as required.
   • Conduct internal and external price benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing.
   • Maintain price tools and perform periodic appraisals of suppliers, taking necessary action on non-performing suppliers.

Requirements:

• Qualifications:
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain.
• Experience:
  • More than 4 years of professional experience as a Buyer in the Food and Beverage industry (experience with flavours is advantageous).
  • SAP experience is essential.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Excel are required.
• Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage contracts and supplier relationships effectively.
  • Proficient in handling procurement processes and resolving issues.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
