Business Engineer

Business Engineer position available. The role supports the vision and strategy of the organization by enhancing its capabilities through the development and implementation of business process architecture solutions and requirements.

Primary Focus

1. Provide business process architecture and requirements for Capitec business units.
2. Support new revenue growth initiatives.
3. Drive continuous improvement post-project implementation through business unit operationalization, ensuring tracking of business benefits and achievement of strategic objectives.

Secondary Focus

1. Translate business needs from projects, new ideas, or system changes into business requirements for IT system development or procurement.
2. Develop change management plans, project plans, and design policies, procedures, and performance measures.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (General) or Information Technology.
• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational.

Preferred:

• Postgraduate qualification in Engineering (General).

Experience

Minimum:

• Experience in complex analytical business design, development, improvement, or product design.
• Experience in business improvement, including Six Sigma/Lean methodologies and Theory of Constraints (TOC).
• Planning, logistics, or supply chain management background.
• Experience in building models and data analysis.

Ideal:

• 10+ years of experience in complex analytical business design, development, improvement, or product design.
• Experience translating corporate strategies into initiatives/projects.
• Proven track record in initiating and implementing projects for performance improvement, revenue growth, and continuous improvement.
• Experience in working in an Agile environment.

Knowledge

Minimum:

• Lean principles and methodologies.
• Business change lifecycle and change management principles.
• System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Lifecycle.
• Agile practices and quality management.
• Risk and issue management.
• Familiarity with BABOK, SOA, TOGAF, ARCHIMATE, and business case development.
• Experience with client journey mapping, process frameworks (e.g., Strategy, HR, Finance, Marketing, Sales), and process simulation modeling.
• Knowledge of financial modeling, management operating systems, incident management, legal frameworks, and business architecture.
• Understanding of financial/banking transactional processes.
• Proficient in data and analytics.
