Position Overview: The Cost Accountant is responsible for performing accurate yield and production calculations for VKB Milling. This role involves maintaining costing records, generating reports, and assisting with budget and forecast processes.
Requirements:
- BCom in Accounting
- CIMA qualification (preferred)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Cost Accounting
- Previous experience with NAVISION (advantageous)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update costing records.
- Perform project costing and generate related reports.
- Develop and maintain costing models.
- Monitor and analyze purchase price variance.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting, including pricing structures.
- Support stock counts and compile monthly management reports.
- Ensure daily posting of production and transfer orders.
- Handle IT-related inquiries from all departments.
- Approve general journals and payments on an ad-hoc basis.
- Maintain inventory item setup in NAVISION.
- Monitor and report on production efficiency weekly.
- Manage recipes/BOM (Bill of Materials) and create/review new item codes.
- Review and investigate stock take variances.
- Provide consignment stock support and handle maize financing.
- Perform month-end reconciliations.
