Business Intelligence Analyst

Purpose Statement: To build value for the product line by solving client and business challenges using data. This role involves utilizing data and analytical skills to generate insights that enable senior decision-makers to make better and faster informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis and Insights:
   • Analyze and interpret complex data to provide actionable insights for solving business challenges.
   • Build and maintain data models and dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
   • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver insights that address business requirements.
   • Communicate findings effectively to senior decision-makers.
3. Data Visualization and Reporting:
   • Develop and present data visualizations using tools such as Power BI.
   • Utilize SQL to prepare and analyze data for various reporting needs.
4. Cloud Data Platforms:
   • Work with data on cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
   • Apply knowledge of cloud-based data solutions to enhance data management and analytics.
5. Tool Utilization:
   • Use low/no-code AutoML tools such as Power BI or AWS SageMaker for modeling and analysis.
   • Apply design thinking principles to develop innovative data solutions.
6. Knowledge and Compliance:
   • Ensure adherence to data privacy and security regulations.
   • Maintain data quality and manage incidents effectively.

Education:

• Minimum: A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration or Statistics.
• Ideal or Preferred: Certification in Business Analysis.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or equivalent, including expertise in data analytics, BI methods and tools, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and working with data on cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Proven experience in building data visualizations using tools such as Power BI and using SQL for data preparation and analysis.
  • Experience in identifying and quantifying value from data solutions.
• Knowledge:
  • Basic experience in using low/no-code AutoML tools such as Power BI or AWS SageMaker.
  • Understanding of dimensional modeling, the Data Product Life Cycle (DPLC), and agile project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, security regulations, and best practices.
  • Awareness of data quality and incident management.
• Ideal:
  • Previous experience working in business analysis within the banking sector.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and practices.
