Business Manager position available. As a Business Banking Manager, you will provide proactive sales and service management within the business banking sector. Your primary role is to retain and grow a portfolio of business clients by identifying and implementing value-adding financial product solutions from both standard and customized offerings. You will focus on managing and enhancing client relationships, providing specialized business banking solutions, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the business banking unit.
Experience
- Minimum:
- At least 5 years of banking experience, with 3 years specifically in the Business Banking environment.
- Proven experience in managing a complex portfolio of business customers, with a focus on service and financial analysis.
- Significant experience in preparing and motivating credit applications.
- Experience in cost control and sales management.
- Ideal:
- 1-2 years of managerial or leadership experience.
- 1-2 years of experience managing a small business center.
Qualifications
- Minimum:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance.
- Ideal or Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Finance.
Knowledge
- Minimum:
- Principles and practices of business economics and the current business economic environment.
- Customer relationship management (CRM) principles and techniques.
- Different industry sectors and sector risk profiles/trends, including the impact of climatic conditions on agricultural markets (if applicable).
- Local market sales principles and practices for managing and optimizing retention and growth within the portfolio.
- General banking practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of competitor product offerings, channels, operational, and marketing tactics.
- Credit principles and practices, including understanding credit applications and securities.
- Knowledge of legal entities in the commercial market and the legislative restrictions and requirements from a financial services perspective.
- Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA).
- Ability to extract, analyze, and apply CRM insights to influence client management strategies.
- General understanding of Business Banking operations, business risks, industry risks, and financial requirements pertaining to the business market.
- Ideal:
- Features, benefits, and value propositions of company product/service offerings.
- Multi-level products and pricing structures.
- Current taxation laws as they apply to customers.
- Knowledge of administration processes and procedures related to Business Banking transactions.
- Financial modeling, activity-based costing, financial analysis, and complex cash flow cycles (industry/sector-specific).
