Job Summary: As a Sales Associate at Birkenstock, you will be the face of our brand, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales, managing inventory, and ensuring the smooth daily operation of the store. You will also be expected to engage in continuous learning and contribute to a positive store environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales:
- Acknowledge every customer within 30 seconds.
- Provide excellent customer service by following Birkenstock procedures.
- Identify customer needs and use your technical knowledge to demonstrate how our products meet those needs.
- Close sales and secure add-on sales.
- Invite customers back and turn them into loyal Birkenstock fans.
- Monitor and track your daily sales against individual budgets regularly.
Inventory Management:
- Replenish footwear, apparel, and accessories from the storeroom daily.
- Minimize shrinkage by zoning the store, acknowledging customers, and adhering to the Birkenstock changing room policy.
- Ensure accurate stock entries in the POS system.
- Process deliveries by checking quantities, invoices, tagging, hanging, pricing products, and recording in the POS system.
- Handle customer orders efficiently.
Daily Operations:
- Maintain store cleanliness and housekeeping daily, including dusting, cleaning mirrors, vacuuming, emptying bins, clearing counter areas, and tidying change rooms.
- Assist the manager with opening and closing the store.
Training:
- Take responsibility for your own training and development.
- Ensure you are initially paired with a buddy and learn from them.
- Attend quarterly training sessions and complete required assessments.
- Receive monthly feedback from your manager.
- Schedule monthly meetings with your store manager to discuss progress and eligibility for promotions.
Merchandising:
- Observe and maintain stock presentation according to Birkenstock standards.
- Replenish sizes as needed.
- Assist with changing window displays and mannequins fortnightly.
- Store POS materials properly to avoid damage.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience.
- Knowledge of Birkenstock products is advantageous.
- Ability to work flexible shifts.
