Loss Prevention Officer

Work-Force

A Loss Prevention Officer is needed in Umhlanga. The role focuses on consistent delivery, accurate work and clear communication across the KwaZulu-Natal operation.

About This Position

This Loss Prevention Officer role has been briefed against a clear set of outcomes for Umhlanga. The successful candidate will work alongside an established team and will be expected to contribute meaningfully to the legal and security jobs pipeline across KwaZulu-Natal.

The organisation keeps reporting lines clean and expectations realistic. Performance is measured against a small, agreed set of metrics, and there are no surprise yardsticks for the Loss Prevention Officer taking on this position.

Stakeholders for this position include line managers, peers across the legal and security jobs team and trusted external partners. Building those relationships early makes the next twelve months in Umhlanga much easier.

What Your Day Looks Like

Your day is built on focus and detail. You work through matter files or post lists, review evidence or contracts and check that every required record is in place. Communication with site teams, attorneys, clients or SAPS is constant, and you keep your reports factual, precise and timely. When something out of the ordinary happens, you respond calmly and follow procedure, knowing that good documentation today protects the business tomorrow.

Practically speaking, the rhythm rewards people who plan ahead but also pivot quickly when KwaZulu-Natal operations throw up the unexpected.

Notably, the Umhlanga office buzzes through peak hours and settles into focused, productive lulls in between, giving you time to plan and reset before the next stretch of work.

Our Commitment to Transformation

Inclusion is a core part of how the team operates. This is an equal-opportunity employer, and candidates from all communities — including women, youth and persons living with disabilities — are encouraged to apply for this role in Umhlanga.

Practical steps back the words. Structured EE reporting, transformation initiatives and learnership programmes give real opportunities to candidates from across KwaZulu-Natal.

Inclusive hiring extends through onboarding and into how teams operate every day. Respectful, fair conduct is expected from every team member in Umhlanga.

Growing With Us

Equally, this role can grow with you. Strong performers in the legal and security jobs team in Umhlanga have moved into senior, supervisory and specialist positions, and that journey is supported through coaching, training and exposure to bigger projects.

Growth conversations happen at a regular cadence — not just at year-end — so the path forward stays current and realistic for every Umhlanga team member.

Internal mobility is encouraged. People who start in Umhlanga have moved into roles in other branches, specialist functions and project teams across KwaZulu-Natal.
