The Role
This Legal Secretary role sits within the legal and security jobs function in Witbank. It offers a defined scope, clear measures of success, and the support of an experienced team across Mpumalanga.
Day-to-day, the role balances focused delivery with the kind of collaboration that keeps things moving. The successful candidate is trusted to make sensible decisions inside the agreed scope, with line-management support whenever a sounding board is useful.
Internal documentation, process notes and shared playbooks make it easier for the Legal Secretary to step into the legal and security jobs workflow quickly. Institutional knowledge is well-organised, so people are not reinventing the wheel from one week to the next.
Reasonable working hours and respectful planning are part of how the role runs. The team values strong delivery, and load is balanced fairly across the legal and security jobs group in Witbank.
Where You’ll Work
The environment is process-driven and regulation-aware. Whether you are at a desk or on site, attention to detail, calm conduct and accurate reporting are non-negotiable.
Health, safety and well-being are taken seriously. Current policies and procedures are maintained, and the Witbank site adheres to the standards expected of a responsible South African employer.
In addition, the role is intended to operate under the hiring organisation’s workplace conduct, health and safety policies in Mpumalanga.
Beyond that, the working environment is set up to give the team the focus needed for deeper work, while keeping collaboration and quick problem-solving close at hand.
Equal Opportunity
Inclusive recruitment is part of the organisation’s employment practices. Applicants are assessed on relevant qualifications, skills and experience for this role in Witbank.
B-BBEE compliance is more than a scorecard here. It informs how the business invests in skills development, supplier diversity and community engagement across the country.
In addition, inclusive hiring extends through onboarding and into how teams operate every day. Respectful, fair conduct is expected from every team member in Witbank.
Crucially, the hiring organisation’s applicable employment-equity and inclusion practices will be explained in the final vacancy details for Mpumalanga.
Your Team
In addition, the team you will be working with is fast-paced and energetic. Things move quickly across the Witbank office, and the people who thrive here are the ones who plan ahead, communicate openly and pick up the slack when Mpumalanga operations get busy.
Collaboration is the default working mode. Whether picking up a quick query or working through a complex project, you will find colleagues willing to lean in and help.
Crucially, the team structure and working relationships for this role in Witbank will be explained during the hiring process.
Line management is hands-on without being heavy. Expect regular one-to-ones, honest feedback and the support needed to do good work consistently.
Career Growth
Crucially, this role can grow with you. Strong performers in the legal and security jobs team in Witbank have moved into senior, supervisory and specialist positions, and that journey is supported through coaching, training and exposure to bigger projects.

Beyond that, internal mobility is encouraged. People who start in Witbank have moved into roles in other branches, specialist functions and project teams across Mpumalanga.
