Food and Beverage Supervisor

Work-Force

Role: Food and Beverage Supervisor. Location: Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. The team is hiring and seeks a candidate who can step in and deliver from week one.

What This Role Involves

The organisation is investing in its Umhlanga operation, and this Food and Beverage Supervisor position reflects that commitment. The successful candidate will work across the hospitality jobs function and contribute to the wider KwaZulu-Natal business.

Practically speaking, the organisation keeps reporting lines clean and expectations realistic. Performance is measured against a small, agreed set of metrics, and there are no surprise yardsticks for the Food and Beverage Supervisor taking on this position.

Importantly, the role has been written to be sustainable, not just busy. Strong output is expected, and managers in Umhlanga also pay attention to recovery, learning and the kind of breathing room that keeps people doing good work over time.

Day in the Life

Your shift usually starts with a brief from the duty manager, a quick station check and a look at the day’s bookings or specials. As guests arrive, you slip into a steady rhythm — warm welcomes, accurate orders and seamless coordination with the kitchen and bar. Service peaks demand calm focus and tight teamwork, and quieter moments are spent resetting tables, polishing glassware or training a new starter. When the last guest leaves happy, you know you have delivered a memorable hospitality experience.

No two days look exactly the same — and that variety is part of what keeps the role engaging for the right candidate in Umhlanga.

Notably, the rhythm rewards people who plan ahead but also pivot quickly when KwaZulu-Natal operations throw up the unexpected.

What We Offer

Equally, the company invests in the people who join it. From structured onboarding to ongoing skills development, you will find clear paths to grow your career in hospitality jobs from your base in Umhlanga. Many colleagues across KwaZulu-Natal have moved into senior roles after starting in positions just like this one.

Importantly, the company reinvests in its people: paid training, internal moves and the chance to take on bigger projects are all part of how careers in Umhlanga keep progressing.

Benefits are clear and consistent. Beyond the package on offer, the role includes the supports you would expect from an established South African employer in KwaZulu-Natal.
