Packing Line Worker

Work-Force

This is a current vacancy. We believe great workplaces are built on great people. We are looking for a Packing Line Worker in Vredenburg, and we encourage applicants from across Western Cape to consider this opportunity.

About the Opportunity

Importantly, this Packing Line Worker role has been briefed against a clear set of outcomes for Vredenburg. The successful candidate will work alongside an established team and will be expected to contribute meaningfully to the logistics jobs pipeline across Western Cape.

The successful applicant is given the room to plan, deliver and review their work without unnecessary noise. The organisation has built its Vredenburg team on trust, and the Packing Line Worker role will feel that from week one.

Beyond that, the role has been written to be sustainable, not just busy. Strong output is expected, and managers in Vredenburg also pay attention to recovery, learning and the kind of breathing room that keeps people doing good work over time.

Your Future Here

Beyond that, this role can grow with you. Strong performers in the logistics jobs team in Vredenburg have moved into senior, supervisory and specialist positions, and that journey is supported through coaching, training and exposure to bigger projects.

Growth conversations happen at a regular cadence — not just at year-end — so the path forward stays current and realistic for every Vredenburg team member.

Internal mobility is encouraged. People who start in Vredenburg have moved into roles in other branches, specialist functions and project teams across Western Cape.

The Environment

Notably, the environment is operationally driven and physical at times, with shift-based work, strict safety standards and a strong focus on accuracy and on-time delivery.

In addition, the working environment is set up to give the team the focus needed for deeper work, while keeping collaboration and quick problem-solving close at hand.

Health, safety and well-being are taken seriously. Current policies and procedures are maintained, and the Vredenburg site adheres to the standards expected of a responsible South African employer.

Your Role

  • Ensure full compliance with road traffic, OHS Act and customs requirements
  • Maintain accurate inventory records on the warehouse management system
  • Plan delivery routes to maximise vehicle utilisation and on-time delivery
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly stock counts and investigate variances
  • Coordinate cross-docking and consolidation with inbound and outbound teams
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in racking, aisles and yard areas

Who We’re Looking For

  • Any checks required by law or the specific duties will be explained during the hiring process
  • Able to perform the essential manual-handling duties safely, with reasonable accommodation where applicable
  • Awareness of OHS Act, traffic regulations and hazardous goods rules
  • 2+ years’ experience in warehousing, distribution or logistics
  • Strong numeracy and accuracy on stock counts and pick lists

Potential is considered alongside experience, so candidates who tick most of these boxes should still be considered.
