Work-Force
The organisation is recruiting a Occupational Health Practitioner for its Vanderbijlpark operation. The role forms part of a wider health jobs portfolio across Gauteng.
The Role
Notably, the organisation is investing in its Vanderbijlpark operation, and this Occupational Health Practitioner position reflects that commitment. The successful candidate will work across the health jobs function and contribute to the wider Gauteng business.
Expect a structured first ninety days, with onboarding milestones, regular check-ins, and an early focus on getting comfortable with the systems and processes that underpin the Vanderbijlpark team.
Internal documentation, process notes and shared playbooks make it easier for the Occupational Health Practitioner to step into the health jobs workflow quickly. Institutional knowledge is well-organised, so people are not reinventing the wheel from one week to the next.
Growing With Us
Career progression here is real, not a slogan. The health jobs space in Vanderbijlpark offers a clear runway from delivery into team leadership and beyond, and managers sit down with each team member regularly to map out the next step in Gauteng.
Practically speaking, internal mobility is encouraged. People who start in Vanderbijlpark have moved into roles in other branches, specialist functions and project teams across Gauteng.
Training is a mix of formal courses, structured on-the-job learning and exposure to broader projects, all geared at building practical skills.
A Typical Day
You start your shift with a thorough handover, picking up patient histories, treatment plans and any concerns from the previous team. The morning is paced but purposeful — vital signs, medication rounds, bedside conversations — and you’re constantly switching between clinical tasks and the very human work of reassuring patients and families. Multi-disciplinary rounds give you a chance to advocate for your patients, and by the time you hand over again, you have done meaningful work that makes a real difference to the people in your care.
Notably, the Vanderbijlpark office buzzes through peak hours and settles into focused, productive lulls in between, giving you time to plan and reset before the next stretch of work.
Crucially, the rhythm rewards people who plan ahead but also pivot quickly when Gauteng operations throw up the unexpected.
