Security Officer

Work-Force

A vacancy has been confirmed for a Security Officer based in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will join an established team within the legal and security jobs function.

What This Role Involves

The Security Officer vacancy forms part of how the Ladysmith branch keeps performing. It pairs day-to-day delivery with longer-running priorities that keep the legal and security jobs side of the business moving forward.

Communication runs both ways. Managers across the legal and security jobs team in KwaZulu-Natal make time for one-to-ones, and people are expected to speak up early when something needs attention.

Reasonable working hours and respectful planning are part of how the role runs. The team values strong delivery, and load is balanced fairly across the legal and security jobs group in Ladysmith.

Growing With Us

This role can grow with you. Strong performers in the legal and security jobs team in Ladysmith have moved into senior, supervisory and specialist positions, and that journey is supported through coaching, training and exposure to bigger projects.

Internal mobility is encouraged. People who start in Ladysmith have moved into roles in other branches, specialist functions and project teams across KwaZulu-Natal.

Growth conversations happen at a regular cadence — not just at year-end — so the path forward stays current and realistic for every Ladysmith team member.

Diversity and Inclusion

Inclusion is a core part of how the team operates. This is an equal-opportunity employer, and candidates from all communities — including women, youth and persons living with disabilities — are encouraged to apply for this role in Ladysmith.

B-BBEE compliance is more than a scorecard here. It informs how the business invests in skills development, supplier diversity and community engagement across the country.

Practical steps back the words. Structured EE reporting, transformation initiatives and learnership programmes give real opportunities to candidates from across KwaZulu-Natal.

Day in the Life

Your day is built on focus and detail. You work through matter files or post lists, review evidence or contracts and check that every required record is in place. Communication with site teams, attorneys, clients or SAPS is constant, and you keep your reports factual, precise and timely. When something out of the ordinary happens, you respond calmly and follow procedure, knowing that good documentation today protects the business tomorrow.

Importantly, the Ladysmith office buzzes through peak hours and settles into focused, productive lulls in between, giving you time to plan and reset before the next stretch of work.

On top of that, the rhythm rewards people who plan ahead but also pivot quickly when KwaZulu-Natal operations throw up the unexpected.

  • Patrol assigned premises and conduct visible security deterrence
  • Liaise with the Sheriff, Master’s Office and external counsel
  • Coordinate with SAPS and emergency services during incidents
