Purpose of the Role: Establish and lead the quality function within the Africa Regional Audit Delivery Centre, implementing quality initiatives, processes, and reporting systems to ensure high standards of work and compliance with quality control frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Function Establishment:
- Develop and establish a quality function within the Africa Regional Audit Delivery Centre.
- Implement quality processes to monitor and ensure the quality of work delivered to on-site teams.
- Quality Initiatives:
- Design and drive quality initiatives, including establishing quality KPIs and promoting effective team behaviors.
- Create and manage quality reporting processes and ensure actions are effectively driven through the business.
- ISQM 1 Implementation:
- Support the implementation and deployment of the ISQM 1 framework.
- Ensure compliance with the System of Quality Control and assist other business process owners with ISQM 1 implementation.
- Root Cause Analysis and Remedial Actions:
- Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues.
- Approve and track the execution of remedial action plans and ensure effective changes are implemented.
- Catalogue Services Approval:
- Approve catalogue services and ensure they align with the established quality framework.
- Quality Liaison/Subject Matter Expert:
- Serve as the quality liaison and SME for handling all related queries and providing expert advice.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Honors and further qualifications will be advantageous.
- Experience:
- At least 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an internal audit role.
- At least 5 years of experience in a management position.
- Experience in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience with a big four audit firm and in external audit or risk management will be advantageous.
- Certifications:
- Articles and professional certifications (CA/CIA, etc.) required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Analytical Skills:
- Ability to critically analyze processes, understand control environments, and identify risks and controls in business processes.
- Process Optimization:
- Experience in analyzing root causes of process inadequacies and designing fit-for-purpose recommendations.
- Understanding of process optimization and key principles.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Ability to manage stakeholders, including obtaining buy-in for solutions and initiatives.
- Proven experience in stakeholder management with both junior and senior colleagues.
- Project Management:
- Experience in project management, risk rating, heat mapping, and prioritizing risks and processes based on rating scales.
- Communication:
- Ability to have difficult conversations and uphold quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders effectively.
