About the role:
You play a pivotal role between the students, the academic faculty and programme administration office. You will be the first point of contact for most of our clients, making you the “face” of Wits University. As a Programme Coordinator, you will ensure that there is an efficient management, administration and hospitality of all the areas of programmes by upholding the highest service delivery standards that exceed the delegates and clients’ needs before, during and in closing of the programme. You will provide guidance to the delegates on the applicability of courses, manage the process of registration and facilitation of all payments. The Programme Coordinator role requires you to be able to manage programme evaluations and addressing a wide array of hospitality matters. You are expected to travel at times to manage programmes and attend to all programme-delivery issues.
What you’ll do:
§ Handle (with reference to course content) client queries and provide detailed and accurate information relating to course offered.
§ Interface with potential clients both telephonically and electronically, giving reliable advice on merits of programmes and explaining the difference between programmes.
§ Communicating with potential students regarding course information and application processes.
§ Facilitating the hosting and orientation of students.
§ Communicate current course information covering assessment deadlines, and venue details among other things to all participants timeously.
§ Takes overall logistical management responsibility in relation to course materials, applicable sign offs, venue, catering, travel and accommodation.
§ Educating students and assessors about the requirements for academic integrity in all assessments in terms of the relevant policies, procedures and instructions.
§ Provides guidance on procedures for assessments and academic integrity.
§ Drives the timeous arrangements all assessments, the capturing of mark sheets and the generation of evaluation reports and ensure that each programme has the relevant BUSA code, and/or 6th segment code.
What you’ll need:
§ You have a Bachelor’s degree (NQF7) and 4+ years’ experience in academic programme coordination.
§ You have commendable people management skills.
§ You are self-driven, disciplined and able to function independently.
§ You have above average communication and interpersonal skills.
§ You can handle working under pressure and in the delegate/client service spotlight.
§ You have excellent execution and administrative skills (advanced knowledge of excel is key), and can work effectively within a diverse community.
