Key performance areas:

    Safeguarding of company assets, assessment of acquired intelligence/information and the deployment and development of subordinates.
    Liaises with external agencies and reports to Manager.
    Support and guide direct reports by providing in-depth knowledge and understanding of their areas of responsibility i.e. investigations, control room and the technical environment.
    Ensure service level agreements are in place with service providers and monitor compliance and timeous delivery of services.
    Coordinate security operations or activities with public law enforcement and service providers.
    Manage resources and emergency response mechanisms.
    Manage and oversee responses from tactical teams, riot teams relating to strikes, protests and/or looting nationally.
    Ensure action plans are in place in order to guide resources when responding to incidents and plan security for special and high risk events and/or areas.
    Provide executive protection activities by organizing and deploying CPO’s (Close Protection Officer) as and when required for VIP’s, CEO and Directors.
    Ensure K9 is deployed to incidents relating to protests and/or looting incidents.
    Oversee and manage counterintelligence processes ensuring adherence and compliance to the required standards.
    Oversee and manage the Cash in Transit (CIT) procedures at store level nationally.
    Order security-related supplies and equipment as needed.
    Assist in emergency management and contingency planning.
    Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches.
    Monitor security policies, action plans and procedures to ensure compliance with internal security policies and/or applicable legislative or regulatory requirements.
    Analyse and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
    Implement security standards, policies, and procedures nationally enforcing consistency.
    Collect and analyse security data to determine security needs.
    Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, customers, or others on company property.
    Drawing up project briefs
    Negotiation with customers or suppliers over price, contracts or services
    Written proposals or presentations aimed at changing practices within or across business units or selling a product or service to external clients

The successful candidate must have:

    Matric with a Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority National Diploma or equivalent to NQF level 6
    Grade A PSIRA Certification
    ± 10 Years’ experience in Security
    ± 10 Years’ experience in Guarding, Close Protection Services and Tactical Security
    ± 10 Years’ experience in Protection Services
    Excellent problem solving and decision making ability
    Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting the business and organization.
    Must be willing to travel locally and internationally
    Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
    Ability to balance facts and potential approaches, taking the appropriate criteria into account.
    Conflict management skills
    Business performance management
    Demonstrates good written, oral, and listening skills.
    Must have experience in supervising / overseeing loss prevention services
