Duties

Key performance areas:

    Provide a strategic leadership function in terms of developing and maintain operational activities
    Provide expertise in the areas of financial management and corporate governance to the Board
    Identify government policies, strategies and incentive applicable to the sector
    Analyse industry trends, information and statistics and review overall development situation and performance
    Build consensus and collaboration among strategic programmatic partners
    Keep close contacts with similar industries and stakeholders to follow market developments and trends.
    Provide leadership in terms of a strong transformational objectives relating to BBBEE objectives
    Initiate a national and international marketing plan and material including the updating of the website, a social media strategy and monitoring of the results of social media campaigns.
    Develop and implement strategies to encourage statutory measure participation
    Ensure best practices are incorporated in the development of programmes and projects supporting the olive industry
    Draft a research and development plan in accordance with regional needs

The successful candidate must have:

    Matric with a relevant Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 - 5 years practical experience in the field of agribusiness and/or general business management.
    A passion for the horticultural industry and innovation with an understanding of the commercial environment.
    Knowledge of transparency, separation of duties and vested interest.
    Demonstrate ability to network at the highest levels with the private and public sectors.
    Proven leadership skills, a team player and able to work on own initiative.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Afrikaans & English)
    Excellent interpersonal skills.
    Excellent computer literacy (MS Office suite)
