Key performance areas:
Provide a strategic leadership function in terms of developing and maintain operational activities
Provide expertise in the areas of financial management and corporate governance to the Board
Identify government policies, strategies and incentive applicable to the sector
Analyse industry trends, information and statistics and review overall development situation and performance
Build consensus and collaboration among strategic programmatic partners
Keep close contacts with similar industries and stakeholders to follow market developments and trends.
Provide leadership in terms of a strong transformational objectives relating to BBBEE objectives
Initiate a national and international marketing plan and material including the updating of the website, a social media strategy and monitoring of the results of social media campaigns.
Develop and implement strategies to encourage statutory measure participation
Ensure best practices are incorporated in the development of programmes and projects supporting the olive industry
Draft a research and development plan in accordance with regional needs
The successful candidate must have:
Matric with a relevant Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 - 5 years practical experience in the field of agribusiness and/or general business management.
A passion for the horticultural industry and innovation with an understanding of the commercial environment.
Knowledge of transparency, separation of duties and vested interest.
Demonstrate ability to network at the highest levels with the private and public sectors.
Proven leadership skills, a team player and able to work on own initiative.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Afrikaans & English)
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer literacy (MS Office suite)
