Divisional Financial Manager Agriculture position available.

Qualification: BCom plus CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.

Experience: 7 Years financial management, budget processes and cost control experience at a senior level, including experience in managing a team.

Reporting Structure: This position directly reports to the Senior Divisional Financial Manager Agriculture.  The Agri Junior Management Accountant, Admin clerk and stores Controller report into this position, as well as the Breeders Management Accountant and Feedmill junior Management Accountant.

Key Relationships: Senior Production Managers. Senior Farm Managers, Area Managers, Maintanance Managers, Procurement Manager, Stores Controller, Breeder Management Accountant, Agriculture Jnr Management Accountant, Feedmill Jnr Management Accountant, Supply Chain Analyst and Human Resources.

Job Summary: To manage and oversee the financial activities of the Agriculture Division through driving down costs, highlighting variances to standard as well as identifying potencial areas of improvement across the Eastern Cape Agriculture division, inclusive of Hatcheries,  Breeder-and Broiler Farms, Feedmill and Agri Services.

Job Duties: Control Budget, Review and approve all purchase orders daily.  Consolidate costs in conjuction with the resposibile financial persons from the various Agriculture departments (Hatcheries, Broilers, Feedmill, Agri Services). Sign off weekly Cashbook payments. Review and evaluate financial viability of supplier payments.

Reporting and follow-up: Optimise and steamline all reports

Inventory: Sign off monthly stock count variance report and confirm closing calue of the month.

People: Drive the focus of specific task team members, ensuring the ultimate achievement of goals and objectives and holding individuals accountable for their KPI’s.  Plan and implement staff training.

SOP’s for all financial systems/control in place:  Continuously review Agri Finance SOP’s to ensure they are up to date and all staff understand and adhere to them.  Make recommendations on opportunities for improved efficiencies.
