Step into a Conveyancing Secretary role in Ladysmith and make your mark across KwaZulu-Natal. The team is hiring now and wants to hear from sharp, committed candidates.

About This Position

This Conveyancing Secretary role sits within the legal and security jobs function in Ladysmith. It offers a defined scope, clear measures of success, and the support of an experienced team across KwaZulu-Natal.

Day-to-day, the role balances focused delivery with the kind of collaboration that keeps things moving. The successful candidate is trusted to make sensible decisions inside the agreed scope, with line-management support whenever a sounding board is useful.

Tools, systems and information are there to support the role rather than slow it down. The company continues to invest in the technology that backs its Ladysmith teams, and the new Conveyancing Secretary will feel that from the first week.

Your Future Here

On top of that, this role can grow with you. Strong performers in the legal and security jobs team in Ladysmith have moved into senior, supervisory and specialist positions, and that journey is supported through coaching, training and exposure to bigger projects.

Internal mobility is encouraged. People who start in Ladysmith have moved into roles in other branches, specialist functions and project teams across KwaZulu-Natal.

Training is a mix of formal courses, structured on-the-job learning and exposure to broader projects, all geared at building practical skills.

Your Team

You will join a tight-knit, collaborative team that knows the legal and security jobs side of the business inside out. The Ladysmith group is a healthy mix of experienced operators and newer joiners, all of whom share a strong commitment to delivery and to one another.

Collaboration is the default working mode. Whether picking up a quick query or working through a complex project, you will find colleagues willing to lean in and help.

Line management is hands-on without being heavy. Expect regular one-to-ones, honest feedback and the support needed to do good work consistently.

What Your Day Looks Like

Your day is built on focus and detail. You work through matter files or post lists, review evidence or contracts and check that every required record is in place. Communication with site teams, attorneys, clients or SAPS is constant, and you keep your reports factual, precise and timely. When something out of the ordinary happens, you respond calmly and follow procedure, knowing that good documentation today protects the business tomorrow.

The Ladysmith office buzzes through peak hours and settles into focused, productive lulls in between, giving you time to plan and reset before the next stretch of work.

Practically speaking, the rhythm rewards people who plan ahead but also pivot quickly when KwaZulu-Natal operations throw up the unexpected.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct searches and inspections in line with site procedures
  • Coordinate with SAPS and emergency services during incidents
  • Support investigations into theft, fraud and policy breaches
  • Maintain FICA and KYC records in line with regulatory requirements

  • Able to perform the essential duties of a site-based security role safely, with reasonable accommodation where applicable
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure incidents
  • Sound ethical judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality
