Driver: Light Duty -VW Edenvale opportunity in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
About the Role
As a Light Duty Driver at VW Edenvale, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of vehicles and materials within our facility and to various locations. This position primarily focuses on light-duty driving responsibilities, supporting our operational needs while adhering to safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate light-duty vehicles to transport goods and materials to designated locations efficiently and safely. – Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. – Assist in loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring the protection of items during transit. – Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly. – Collaborate with team members to optimize delivery schedules and routes. – Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety for yourself and others on the road. – Document and report any incidents, delays, or issues encountered during transport. – Provide exceptional customer service to clients and colleagues, representing the VW brand positively.
Requirements
Valid Code 8 driver’s license with a clean driving record. – Demonstrable experience as a light duty driver or in a similar role within a logistics or transportation environment. – Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations. – Proven track record of timely and efficient transportation of goods. – Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. – Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. – Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and routes as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in the automotive industry or with vehicle transportation. – Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and repair. – Certificate in defensive driving or similar qualification. – Knowledge of local area and best practices for efficient routing.
